Betty was born in Gander, Newfoundland on January 29, 1955 to Edith and Clifford Stuckless (deceased). One of 13 brothers and sisters, she will forever be remembered by her siblings Ruth Steele (Barry, deceased), Ruby Breau (Fred), Otto Stuckless (Marilyn, deceased), Doris Johns (Paul), Norma Stuckless, Linda Granville (Brad, deceased), Goldie Stuckless, Stella Briand (Lloyd), Terry Stuckless, Steve Stuckless (Phoebe), Ricky Stuckless (Michelle) and Sherry Stuckless (Ardelle).
Betty moved to Nova Scotia when she was 18 where she spent the rest of her life among many of her sisters, extended family and countless friends. In 1977, she met her late husband Rick Langille whom she built a beautiful life and they had 3 children who are her absolute pride and joy - Nikki (Jay), Scott (Ebony) and Randy (Kassie). Rick’s time with Betty was cut short after a tragic accident in 2011. Even though their family experienced such a great loss, Betty maintained grace, kindness and strength while prioritizing her children’s needs well above her own.
In recent years, Betty found love and companionship in her partner Ward Cosman who was by her side through every new adventure. There were many trips to Ontario to visit her own children, but to also spend time with Ward’s daughters, Brittney and Melissa. Many walks on beaches, through trails and in new cities they visited. Countless meals shared with lots of laughs. Ward was by her side until the very end.
Betty was always vibrant and lived life to the fullest – she lived every damn moment to the last drop! She filled her days with babysitting her grand puppies (Biscuit and Honey), lots of long walks, planning her next vacation, cheering on the Toronto Maple Leafs, socializing with friends or family and often finishing the evenings enjoying a glass of wine.
She was an incredible mother, sister, aunt, cousin, colleague and friend. She touched the lives of so many people. She will truly be missed.
A celebration of life will be held at Fisherman’s Cove Heritage Centre on Tuesday, June 27 from 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the QE2 Foundation 5.2 ICU in Betty Langille’s Name at the following link - Remember a life | QEII Foundation (qe2foundation.ca)
