Anton Los

Los, Anton died peacefully at the QEII hospital on Saturday, August 5th, 2023. Born on May 2, 1934 in the Hague Netherlands he was the son of the late Anton and Margaretha (van Dinteren) Los. He moved to Canada in 1953 and later became a Canadian citizen.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years Juanita (Holder) Los, his sister Elizabeth (Beppy) Liedorp (Teun) of Pynacker, Netherlands and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents and sister Wilhelmina (Willy) Raats of Roosendaal, Netherlands.

Anton had many interests, mainly music, which he made his life’s work as a member of the Royal Canadian Artillery Band, a member of the Royal Conservatory of Music, a fellow of the Trinity College of Music, London organist, Bassoonist, United Church organist and teacher. He loved sailing and golfing his entire life and started playing pool in his later years. He also loved spending time with his good friends Joan and Wayne Wolfe.

Cremation has taken place care of Mattatall Funeral Home; there will be no visitation or service by the request of the deceased. Donations can be made to a charity of choice.
