Connor, Agnes Muriel (Nee Josey) – Age 88 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on August 11th, 2016. Originally of Sheet Harbour, Agnes also lived 13 years of her youth in Quebec City where she made many life-long friends. In 1949 she married her love, George Murray Connor, and they began their life together in Sheet Harbour, NS. After a short period the young family, moved to Grahams Grove in Dartmouth and then finally on to PenhornDrive (Dartmouth) to the family home where she remained for almost 60 years. In 1967, Agnes tragically lost her husband Murray. With strength and tenacity, Agnes continued to raise her family of five children on her own.
Agnes was an avid homemaker who was well known for her talents in baking, preserving , sewing, knitting and all forms of hand crafts. She spent several years teaching others to knit and crochet through courses offered with Dartmouth Recreation. She remained active with skating, bowling, gardening (she was well-known for her green thumb), lawn bowling, reading, playing bridge and she was excellent at table tennis as well (just ask her children!). Agnes also donated hours of her time to her favorite PC political party and always did her part when called upon. She was famous for her memory and was a treasure trove of anecdotes and family history.
Her greatest pride was family, her five children, sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She was able to recall any of their birthdays on demand. This keenness of mind she kept to the end of her days.
Mom had a sharp wit and an ever-present twinkle in her eye. She was loved and will be missed dearly.
Predeceased by husband Murray, brother Robert Josey, and her father and mother, Earl and Nettie Josey, granddaughter Julie Kotlowski and grandson Allen Charles Settle. She is survived by her children; Jane Walker (Bruce), Peter Connor (Glenda), MaryAnne Connor, Susan Kotlowski (Greg) and Eric Connor (Sherri Johnstone), grandchildren; Sean, Suzanne, Hannah, Deirdre, Kirk, Tracey, Andrew, Lauren, Robert, Jonathan, Katie, Ryan, Adam, Jared, and great grandchildren; Natasha, Kyle, Noah, Quinn, Carson, Munroe, Edison, Jacob, Henry, Coen and Jaxon….and not to be forgotten, missed by her furry companion, Maggie.
