In April 2016 my 1st visit to Haven Baptist Church I was greeted by Pastor Bill.
After sitting Pastor came to me and asked if my dog was in my vehicle. I responded that she was to which he responded, "bring her in." 
I was a bit taken back and asked "what if someone is allergic to which he replied "I take my meds." lol
The following Sunday; with my dog; Maceee and I went to Haven again.
I left Macee in my vehicle where she was prefectly fine bc  the weather was cool not hot.  I did not assumed to bring her inside again.
 After being greeted and seated Pastor again approached asking if Macee was in vehicle to which I responded yes ...and he responded again "Bring her in."
Macee sat at my feet every Sunday til we shut Haven Baptist down...and she continue to join our worship til a while later.
For 2 years my rescue attended worship with me.
NO ONE BUT PASTOR BILL WOULD HAVE DONE THAT!!!
Pastor and Carol are the 2 most amazing Christians I've EVER met or known.
I witnessed them share Jesus with so many through their kind loving word, and actions.
God will be rewarding them exceedingly abundantly more than anyone including myself.
They and Pastor are sooo loved!!!


The world lost an amazing man of God but it was surely heaven’s gain!  I will miss walking into my dad’s workshop and seeing Bill and that great smile. I will always remember him as “Mr. Snacks”, a great Bible teacher as a children’s church leader!!  Thank you for everything Bill! 💙

Pastor Bill married my sister Ashley (Lannan) and Jeff Perry. This picture was taken that day with his wife. He was impressive  with the rehearsal dinner and wedding blessings. They were heart felt and real. I have been honored to have known him for a long time. In every way I can imagine, he was a shining example of God’s love. He is now at home with the God he so loved. 

A true man of God that will be missed. I always saw the strongest of convictions of the Gospel coming from my brother. With Bill it was the walk and not just the talk. I felt the strength of the Spirit governing his life .  

Great Pastor , great brother, Certaily gonna Miss Him , the Good news is he's gone Home.

As I think of Bill, I am not alone in stating what so many others have stated: Bill was the friend who walked alongside of me and lightened the load when troubles came. He had a talent for that. Bill’s gift of empathy was overflowing and powerful when combined with his sanguine personality. I am not alone in how I experienced Bill’s presence as a friend, for reading the many messages of condolences I am struck by how this man was truly “your best friend.” How many times I recall feeling like the worse person in the world, or that I was in the worse dilemma of my life, and Bill would just call, text, or more often show up at my front door and say, “hey there Smiley. You have a wonderful smile, you know that?” (while I felt like crises in my life were hurling toward catastrophe!).  In many respects, Bill achieved what many have only strived to achieve: He was absolutely unselfish with his time, and he was absolutely non-discriminatory with his lovingkindness. He was so much like the person we envision the person of Jesus of Nazareth to be. He is always the same. In the past I have had friends, and somehow they changed and we were no longer friends. But Jesus never changes! And my friend Bill was a magnificent portraiture of that aspect of our Savior.

This was December, 2019. Bill and I enjoyed a dinner while doing last minute shopping.

My heart goes out to Carol, Danielle, Will, and the entire family. You are in my prayers. As one who counted Bill as one of my best friends, I wish to share a few thoughts even as I grieve with a sense of great void. 

Bill was an evangelist through and through, extraordinarily thoughtful and intentional, and his faith was constantly present to him. Bill relentlessly preached the gospel, and he did so with his life as a servant and with words based on the foundation of the entire council of God. He challenged me to follow his habit of reading six chapters per day of Scripture. There were many occasions when I had the privilege of being his private pupil as he challenged me to dig into difficult passages while utilizing the most rigorous academic tools. Bill was a graduate of Citadel Bible College, and he graduated from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Pastoral Studies. We had wonderful discussions on matters of interpretation the Church has wrestled with for centuries. In the end, he always summarily concluded, “I’m just a simple preacher.” And then without missing a beat, he’d share the names of people for whom to pray. Whether at a gas station, a hardware store, restaurant, or church gathering, Bill capably appraised a setting and delivered a salvation message one individual at a time. Even in one his final texts to me from the hospital, Bill asked I pray for a healthcare staff person with whom he had just shared “Jesus Christ as Savior.”



My deepest sympathy to Kendra, Will and family. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. 

Pastor Bill was the greatest example of Jesus' sacrificial loving and giving  grace I have ever known in my entire life!!!
Pastor Bill was truly was a light in the darkness.
Jesus lived through him and touched everyone who was blessed enough to meet or know him.
I know he will receive reward from Our Lord Jesus now that he walks with Our Lord Jesus Christ!!!
I WILL MISS YOU SOOO MUCH PASTOR FOREVER ...til we meet again in HEAVEN!


No words can express the sadness I feel loosing the gentlest Irishman I’ve ever known. Bill was without a doubt a joyful soul which was always expressed by his smile and his willingness to help or enlighten anyone. The hospitality and kinship he and Carol showed to his brothers in Christ will always be remembered. Sooooo many memories of those days in California! You will be missed, my friend.

Dear Carol, Danielle and Will Jr,
It seems impossibe to imagine our journey on earth without Bill's big smile, booming voice and contagious faith, and your sense of that loss  must be overwhelming.  We pray for you that as you trace the faithfulness of God through Bill's servant heart, willing hands and generous love for all people, you will be lifted up into praise for the goodness of God.  We so fondly remember Bill greeting us with a huge, warm smile, and genuine brotherly affection; we remember how often he helped us fix something, or haul something in his truck, or worked side-by-side in ministry, such as through the shoebox project.  We will miss his hearty and harmonious singing of the great hymns, and can imagine how joyously he is now singing the reality of v.4 of All Hail the Power of Jesus' Name - "O that with yonder sacred throng, we at his feet may fall.  We'll join the everlasting song and crown Him Lord of all, We'll join the everlasting song and crown Him Lord of all!"

Bill was a terrific man who always put others before himself. He was always there day or night to advise you and guide you through life challenges, or just to enjoy spending time talking and catching up things. I know he is going to be greatly missed by his family and friends, but will be home with The Lord for eternity and continue to watch over all of us from heaven. May he Rest In Peace knowing he will always be in our thoughts and prayers.🙏🙏🙏


Bill Was my friend. I met Bill 47 years ago in 1975 at Norton Air Force Base. Bill & Carol, Gary Young, David Peddicord and myself hung out together and for a while went to the same church. Bill Loved The Lord and was always talking about Him wherever he was. He was always happy in the Lord. He impacted many people and will truly be missed until we meet him in Glory with The Lord or in the clouds. John 14:1-6, 1 Cor. 15:51-58

I had the pleasure of being one of Pastor Bill’s neighbors on Parker Street. He really was a stand up guy-offering great advice or a helping hand.  I’m sad to learn he passed away. My heart goes out to his family. 🕊

We loved Bil like a brother for 20 yrs.  and will always keep him close to our hearts.  Our fondest memories of Bill was that  he was always there for us as he prayed with Ted on the phone everyday, fellowshipped and studied the Word of God together.  He was there for Ted after his back surgery and also gave him a ride to the hospital when Felice had major surgery.  We were blessed as we witnessed him ministering to a nurse, Jessica, and shared the love of God and Jesus Christ as her Savior.  He had such a loving, caring and giving heart to so many people and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and brother to his family and friend to so many people who had the pleasure to know him.  We thank the Lord for the wonderful memories that God allowed us to have throughout the years and look forward to seeing him again in Heaven.
