Victor M. Reis

Victor M. Reis, age 58, of New Bedford, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Natalie J. (Morgado) Reis whom he shared 33 years of loving marriage.

Born in Sao Braz, St Miguel, Azores, the son of the late Jose Mauricio Gonsalves and the late Fernanda (Brizida) Gonsalves.

Victor was an amazing man who accomplished so much and touched so many lives. His love for his family and friends was so abundant it will stay with us forever. He was well respected because he always gave respect to all. He loved working, fishing, boating, gardening, helping others and spending time with family and friends. Victor and his wife are the founders of Reis Asphalt, Inc. of Dartmouth, MA.

Victor will be missed by his wife and his children; Kristal Reis and her fiancé Edson Rego; Derek Reis and his wife Didia; Brian Reis and Alex Reis; 6 siblings, Laudalina Moniz, Fernanda Braz, Connie Raposo, Esmeralda Brizida, Octavio Gonsalves, Joe Gonsalves, his dear mother–in-law, Maria Morgado, and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral will be held Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 8:30am at the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Road, Dartmouth followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at St Julie Billiart Parish, 494 Slocum Road, Dartmouth. Burial will follow in the Private Reis Family Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held Friday from 4-8pm. Donations in Victor’s memory may be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
