Born in South Dartmouth the son of the late Dr. Joshua H. Weeks and the late Marion (Tombo) Weeks, he was a lifelong resident of the town. Mr. Weeks was a graduate of Friends Academy, Tabor Academy and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Miami.
His experience at the University of Miami would shape a lifelong connection to the Florida coastline. In later years, Mr. Weeks and his family would enjoy their time at Indian River Plantation in Stuart, FL where they enjoyed many holidays and family vacations.
From the earliest stages of his professional career Mr. Weeks had an entrepreneurial spirit in the truest sense. For the duration of his career, this spirit led to diverse business opportunities. His commitment to his work was unwavering, and he took great pride in working side-by-side with his two sons in business later in life. His love of his work was palpable to all that knew him, but his commitment to family, friends and his community remained his utmost priority and joy. To all that knew him, Robert was known for his gregarity, warmth, and a true compassion for people.

He had also served on the Board of Directors of Shawmut Bank.
His professional and personal travel took him all around the world, including Africa, The Middle East, Europe, and Asia. His curiosity made him a natural traveler and he embraced discovering new cultures, but he was never happier than to return to his beloved coastline along Padanaram Harbor where he was as an avid boater and lifelong member of the New Bedford Yacht Club. A true patron of the arts, Robert was known for his enthusiasm for art and antiques, with a particular fondness for clocks and nautical paintings depicting the area.
