Born in São Miguel, Azores, he was the son of Joao L. and Deolinda (Arruda) Silva.
John graduated from the Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational High School where he studied automotive and enjoyed playing football. He spent some time working in construction, but his love for cars led him into the auto sales business. He enjoyed building and collecting model cars, and had a special love for animals, especially his chihuahuas, Faith, Hope and Precious. Family was very important to John and memories will be forever cherished.
Survivors in addition to his loving parents are his brother, Alexander Silva and his wife Jenna of Marion, his two sisters, Ana Amaral and her husband Al of Acushnet, and Sandi Silva of Fall River. Three nieces, Sadie Amaral, Alissa Amaral and Mia Amaral. Two nephews, Page Silva-Ramos and Cameron Amaral. He was also loved by countless family members and friends. He will be deeply missed by all.
