Betsy, Many thanks for your call.it was a shock to learn of Freddie's death. An amazing friend and person who will be missed. As you know some of his and my favorite sailing days and nights were together on Fiddler.

My deepest sympathy to the Johnson Family, I will miss Fred, we became friends one day during football season, five minutes left in the game and Fred walks in DWS, Mrs Johnson calls with one word "Touchdown" Fred stayed at store and Mrs Johnson gave us play by play till end of game Patriots win!   And the "lightly oaked" mix up! I am going to miss your smiling face Fred! God Bless! My prayers to your family

Dear Betsy, Dan and Katie: What a loss for the Johnson family. Fred's golden smile and wonderful laugh always brightened the room. As Dianne said, "Fred was born with a smile on his face." To Betsy and the Johnson Family, We are very saddened to hear the news of you loss.  When Lauren and I relocated to Dartmouth 15 years ago, Fred warmly welcomed us to the community.  He was a colleague and a true friend.  With an infectious smile, he graciously showed us around town and the village that he loved.  He introduced us toThe Children's Circle where our children were so lovingly nurtured by you and Katie providing us with a lifetime of wonderful memories.  Whenever a hand was needed launching our boat or hauling it hours before a hurricane beared down on the Southcoast, Fred was at my side in a flash.  He was one of the most kind, generous and gregarious men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.  Take care in knowing Fred lived a full and wonderful life and he touched so many of us with his grace.  Sail on good buddy.

Dear Betsy, Dan, Katie and extended family. I can only remember him laughing or smiling. Many mornings from Tabor we would hop in the car at 3:30 AM and head out for Goose wing beach to surf. he always had fun and it couldn't help but to radiate into me. I don't know anyone like Fred, always wonderful to be around ,
kind and considerate, vibrant and so alive.

I am so sorry to hear about Fred. I was driving from Indianapolis to Chicago on Monday morning when I heard the news. The sun was just rising and I was remembering all of the fun memories I had with you all and Fred. Growing up, Fred was always such a fun-loving, kind and generous man. He shared all things sailing with me, Alicia, and Dave. I will always remember him with his Nantucket red bathing suits, pants and bright smile. He lit up a room and he is surely smiling down on all of us.

     As difficult as this time is for so many, I choose to remember Fred as the vibrant life he once lived filled with his infectious laugh and beaming eyes whether on the seas or slopes.
