Brian A. Groom

Brian A. Groom, 78, of New Bedford, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He was the husband of Maureen K. (Gendron) (Horn) Groom with whom he shared 14 years of marriage.

Born in Downham Market, England, son of the late Arthur Albert Groom and Olive Dagmar (Howes) Groom, he came to the United States when he met the love of his life Maureen.

Mr. Groom served in the U.K. Air Force as an RAF Medic from 1966-1989 attaining the rank of Sergeant.

He had worked as a quality control inspector for Bernard Mathew, a poultry production facility in England.

Brian enjoyed watching soccer and playing board games with his wife.

Surviving in addition to his wife is a son, Darren Groom and his wife Jo and their daughter Emma. His daughter Tracy Groom and her son Keenan. Brian was one of nine siblings and he also had extended family and friends.

His graveside service will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, 274 Main St., Fairhaven.
