She was born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Joseph and Stephanie (Kolasz) Souza and raised by her “special parents”, the late Joseph F. and Lucy Rose.
“Bobby” worked for many years at Batacao’s Market prior to moving to California, where she was employed by Catholic nuns as a cook at a home for girls.
Upon retirement, she returned to South Dartmouth and resided there until her illness. Her interests included doll collecting.
Bobby is survived by several cousins and their respective families; Arthur Souza and Beverly Medeiros of South Dartmouth, Ronald Batacao of East Freetown and Jacqueline Nunes of Port St. Lucie, Florida. She was predeceased by her “cousin-brother”, Russell Rose.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2015 from 8:30-9:30am in the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, 783 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth.
