William James Braun

Bill was born in Brooklyn, New York to William and Anna Weiss Braun on June 17, 1933.

He is survived by his wife Frieda Braun of 66 years. In addition, he is survived by his son James and wife Barbara Braun of Brookfield, son Laurence of Newtown, sister Carol of Trinity, Florida, and grandchildren Matthew and Rachel Braun. He is predeceased by his sister Dorothy Saunders.

Bill was raised in Queens, New York where he then served in the U.S. Navy. He received a BBA degree in accounting from Hofstra University and an MBA from the University of Connecticut and worked as a Certified Public Accountant. Bill was on the Town of Brookfield’s Board of Finance as well as many other town committees. He was a member of the Brookfield Fire Department for 42 years, was a member of the Board of Trustees for Union Savings Bank, as well as a member of the Brookfield Lions Club.

Funeral services will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 119 Junction Rd., Brookfield, CT on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 11 AM. Inurnment to follow at Prince of Peace Cemetery, Brookfield.
