Vita was born in New York City on Oct. 31, 1915, daughter of the late Angelo and Bruna Masciandaro Putignano. Vita and her husband raised their family in the Bronx and in 1958 they relocated to Yonkers, NY. Vita and Frank retired to Melbourne, FL in 1972 where she was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church. She has also maintained a home in Danbury for the past 12 years. Vita devoted her life to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; but, most of all to her late husband, Frank. She was an amazing cook who had the wonderful ability to always remember dates, never forgetting any family member’s birthday.
Survivors include her daughter, Concetta Biele of Danbury, her sons: Richard Biele and his wife, Lucille, of New Fairfield and Michael Biele and his wife Christine, of Danbury. She is also survived by her daughter-in-laws Olga Biele of Jupiter, FL and Shirley Biele of Forked River, NJ. In addition, she is survived by 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Vita was predeceased by her children: Robert , Dorothy and Frank, Jr. She was also predeceased by her son-in-law, Lee D’Agostino.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 7th at 1pm at Holy Trinity Church, Sherman CT. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Palm Bay, FL. Friends will be received on Monday, August 6th from 4pm to 8pm and on Tuesday, August 7th from 10am to 12pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
