Steve was a loving father to his son, Colin, of New Fairfield, CT. He cherished the bond they shared. Steve spent countless hours on the sideline cheering Colin on in baseball and soccer, and proudly relived the game highlights for days afterward. He was a passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan and spent Sundays watching games with his son. He was also a supportive brother to his siblings, Will Hood (Diana Goldberg) of Colorado and Lauren Neese (Theron Neese) of Florida, and a fun uncle to his nieces Kaila, Alyssa, and Caroline and his nephew “T.B.”. Steve was a caring individual who always greeted others with a warm smile. His fun-loving personality and infectious laugh created countless happy memories for those fortunate enough to know him.
Steve graduated Mount Pleasant High School where he played a pivotal role in the success of the Mt. Pleasant High School 1981 state champion football team. He later played football with, and graduated from, the University of Delaware. In recent years Steve sold automobiles across Fairfield County, and will be missed by his colleagues at Ingersoll, H&L, Bruce Bennett, and most recently, D'Addario in Shelton, CT.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street Danbury, CT. Calling hours will take place on Friday, October 20th, from 5-8pm and on Saturday, October 21st, from 10-11am. A private service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Food Allergy Research and Education (foodallergy.org/donate) in honor of his son, or the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org) in honor of his mother.
