Roslyn "Honey" Rose Nesline

Roslyn was born in Brooklyn, NY to Anthony Tomasulo and Nora Fiebert Tomasulo on May 15, 1935, and moved to Norwalk, CT at the age of six. She graduated from Norwalk High School and went on to receive her Registered Nursing degree in 1957 from the Norwalk Hospital Nursing program. She married her beloved husband Robert Martin Nesline on January 12, 1957, in Norwalk, CT and they were married for 42 years until his death in April of 1999. She worked as a registered nurse for 60 years at various nursing homes and retired at the ripe old age of 81 from Wilton Meadows in Wilton, CT.

She was a dedicated and compassionate nurse who loved all her patients and was beloved by all her co-workers. She always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. No situations were too tough for Roslyn. She was able to handle any situation, and everyone knew they could always count on her.

Roslyn and Robert moved to Ridgefield, CT in 1966 where they raised their family in a house her husband and brother-in-law built. She loved going to her sons little league baseball games, which they both played, and where her husband coached and going to her son Robert’s motocross races. She was always their biggest cheerleader.

Throughout her children’s school years she was always involved in all the sports and activities. She was loved by all the kids in the neighborhood whose parents she knew from high school. The Nesline house was the hang out for all the neighborhood kids. Picnics, parties, or just neighborhood games of “kick the can” she enjoyed having the kids around.

You could always find her carpooling the kids around in the old VW Beetle to Great Pond, summer dances at the old high school, or any activities the kids were involved in.

She was a loving wife to her husband and an amazing mother to her four children. When they became empty-nesters Robert and Roslyn loved to travel to several destinations such as Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Albuquerque, New Mexico among other places.

Roslyn was very active in the Bethel Senior Center, taking many trips to various places such as the Westchester Theater, New York City, and the casinos. She enjoyed seeing her friends every week for bingo or just having a dinner out.

One of her favorite joys was visiting her grandson Adam in Buffalo, NY. They would go on day trips to the zoo, Fantasy Island, museums and parks around Buffalo, NY. Adam always liked to challenge his Nanny playing various card and board games. Adam was the light of her life.

She will be sadly missed by her family and all the many friends she came across in her lifetime. Roslyn’s smiling face inspired all those who met her and were lucky enough to have known her.

Roslyn is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Nora Tomasulo, her husband, Robert Nesline, infant child Patricia Ann, and son-in-law Edward F. Burns. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony and Richard Tomasulo.

Roslyn is survived by her children Cindy Nesline, Robert Nesline (Connie), Holly Nesline Burns, Brian Nesline (Mary), grandchild Adam Nesline and brother Robert Tomasulo, along with many nieces and nephews.

The Nesline family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and ICU staff at Danbury Hospital for their care and compassion.

A memorial visitation for Roslyn will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT, followed by a celebration of life from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
