Rose A. Maguire

Born in Glangevlin, County Cavan, Ireland to the late Peter and Mary Cullen Fitzpatrick, Rose immigrated to the United States in 1952. She settled in New York City.

An employee with Westchester Square Hospital in the Bronx, NY, Rose was previously with the A & P in Throgs Neck, Bronx, NY.

A New Fairfield resident for the past 27 years, she was previously of Throgs Neck. Rose was member of St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield and its Ladies Sodality. Rose enjoyed gardening, the Kentucky Derby and long walks, but most of all she enjoyed being in the company of her family.

Besides her husband and parents, Rose was predeceased by her siblings: Michael, Paddy, Peter, Terrence, Thomas, Edward, John, James and Annie.

Survivors include her children: Mary Walsh and her husband, Patrick, of New Fairfield; Eileen Kissane and her husband, Dennis, of New Fairfield; and Michael Maguire and his wife, Liza, of Pearl River, NY. Her grandchildren: James, Michael, Eileen, Rodger, Roseann, Denise, Sheila, Jacqueline and Michael. Her 8 great-grandchildren. Her sister: Mary Neary of Yonkers. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4pm-8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
