Born December 8th, 1959, Rocky was the second of six children of Rocco and Carol Marucci, also of Danbury, Connecticut. A longtime resident of his hometown, Rocky was instantly identifiable in any corner of town as a respected member of his community. Whether he was in a corner store, restaurant, or casino, Rocky was known everywhere he went. While he loved to paint himself as anti-social, he was anything but– and was always ready to greet anyone with a smile and a joke. As a professional, Rocky worked for Amphenol RF for 45 years, starting in 1978. A true embodiment of the American dream, Rocky worked his way through the ranks, eventually joining their Senior Leadership Team as Operations Manager. For leisure, Rocky loved no place more than the friendly confines of Mohegan Sun Casino, spending many a weekend there with his beloved partner Vickie. He was also an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, who he thankfully saw win a pair of championships in the last few years.
Rock is survived by a long list of friends and family members including: His longtime companion Victoria Romanchuk and her great nephew Devin, his son Steven and his fiancée Beth Mirahver, and his Stepdaughter Jillian Goodman and her daughter Julianna. He is also survived by his brothers Mark and wife Robin, Robert and wife Brenda, and Michael and wife Susan, as well as his sister Michele and her longtime partner Donald Olson. He is predeceased by his brother John. He is also survived by a long list of nieces and nephews, including: Crystal, Mark, Anthony, Matthew, Alexa, Brianna, Hunter, and Raquel.
Rocky will be remembered as a genuinely empathetic person who would change the tire of a complete stranger at the drop of a hat. He prided himself on his bartering and negotiating skills, believing himself to be a world class salesman. Above all else, Rocky will be remembered vividly by everyone he came in contact with for his gregarious personality, his friendly nature, and the fact that he was above all else, simply, one of a kind.
A memorial visitation will be held at Green Funeral Home located at 57 Main St., Danbury, CT on Thursday, October 26th from 5pm to 8pm. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are requested to be made to Toys for Tots at Toysfortots.org.
