Peggy L. Caterson, 71, of Candlewood Knolls, New Fairfield, CT died Monday at Hancock Hall in Danbury after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Willis H. Caterson. Born in Roanoke, VA on January 8, 1940, Peggy was the daughter of the late Rufus and Margaret Skidmore Repass. She attended Roanoke College and received her BA from Western Connecticut State University. An area resident for over 50 years, she was a member of the First Congregational Church of Danbury. Peggy was a member of the New Fairfield Senior Center, volunteer with the Meals-on-Wheels program and avid bridge player.
Survivors include her three daughters: Kimberley Maneval, and her husband, Charles, of San Diego, CA; Kristen Hardiman of Fairfield, CT; Suzanne Shanahan and her husband, Kevin, of Fairfield. She also leaves her 7 beloved grandchildren: James and Christopher Maneval, Ellie and TJ Hardiman and Margot, Clare and Kevin Shanahan.
Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at 11am at the First Congregational Church of Danbury, 164 Deer Hill Ave., Danbury with the Rev. Laura Westby, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield. Friends will be received on Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 from 4pm to 8pm at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
