Paul was born in New York, NY on October 7, 1945, to Florence & Philip Schroeder. They resided in Mt. Vernon, NY in a lovely catholic home. Paul was a veteran of Vietnam and served in the Navy. He was awarded many medals of honor and had an honorable discharge. Paul was also a firefighter for the Mt. Vernon Fire Department. Married then later divorced Pamela Lafratto of Eastchester, NY, mother of his daughter Dawn.
Paul is survived by his daughter Dawn, grandson Corey Rist and grand-puppy Coco. Paul attended church every Sunday at Saint Gregory the Great Parish in Danbury, CT. He visited the VFW's in Danbury, Brookfield, and the Bronx, NY. He loved spending time with his fellow veterans, telling stories and having a cold one.
Paul was known for his rough around edges exterior, but all that knew him, LOVED HIM! He loved animals, especially dogs, and could sit and listen to the birds sing all day. He loved feeding the ducks and squirrels and would save doggie bags from his restaurant meals to make sure they got something to eat. He had a tremendous heart and always gave back! He was a loving and caring Dad that did anything for his daughter. A true stand-up guy! That was Paulie and he will be missed by many!
A memorial visitation for Paul will be held Friday, August 26, 2022, from 9:00-10:00 am at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, Connecticut 06810. Following the Memorial Visitation will be a Funeral Mass at 10:30 am at Saint Gregory the Great Parish, 85 Great Plain Rd., Danbury, CT.
