Patrick M. Blanchfield, of Brookfield, CT died peacefully on November 18, 2022, at home with his adoring wife, Elizabeth (Konop) Blanchfield and his family by his side. Born on October 26, 1934 in Amsterdam, NY, he was the son of the late Teresa A. and James A. Blanchfield.
Patrick received a Baccalaureate from Niagara University in Lewiston, NY and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army upon graduation. Following his military service, Patrick had a distinguished career as a comptroller at Union Carbide and as an accountant at Fiorita & Kornhaas in Danbury, CT. He earned a Master’s in Taxation from Western Connecticut State University. His greatest joy was being a loving and devoted husband to Elizabeth and a proud father. He loved being on the golf course and his Duke Blue Devils. He was a resident of Brookfield and parishioner of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, where he was a Eucharistic Minister and taught religious education. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Brookfield Lions Club, where he was awarded the Melvin Jones Award for his service.
In addition to his loving wife of 44 years, he is survived by his seven children, Monica (Steve Forman), Michelle, Marlene, Mary Rokitowski, Marcia Doyle (Tim), Paul (Rebecca), and Lori Canney (Brian), and sixteen grandchildren, as well as his brother William (Joan) and sister-in-law, Mary Jane Blanchfield. He was predeceased by his brothers John (Patricia), James, and Thomas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am on Saturday, November 26, at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield, CT. Friends will be received prior to Mass, from 9:30 - 10:30 at St. Joseph Church.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Patrick’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, the Brookfield Lions Charities, or Niagara University.
