Nancy M. (Berloni) Pinto passed away on February 26 with her daughter by her side. She was 89. Her dementia clouded her last year along with her many physical ailments. She was predeceased by her husband Lou and is survived by her daughter Nancylou Pinto of Redding CT.
Nancy grew up in Bethel but spent most of her life in Redding. She was a registered nurse and proud to have earned her RN degree from the Danbury School of Nursing. She worked in the operating room at Danbury hospital. Later she worked doing private duty nursing and relief nursing at Perkin Elmer. In her early years Nancy was active with West Redding Fire Departments woman's auxiliary. She also worked in retail at Reads and Jordan Marsh Stores.
Nancy loved to shop for just about anything. She was kind and generous and the Italian in her would shop for food for anyone she felt did not have enough food in their kitchen.
She liked to laugh and entertain; champagne and dessert parties, cheesecakes of all flavors, holiday dinners, birthdays, dinner parties with friends always with detailed menus and table settings planned out and beautiful. Nancy was an excellent cook and baker.She always made plenty of whatever she was making.
She enjoyed going to the casino, she called it her hobby and would drive her big car to them taking anyone who wanted to go. She never won big but always had hope.
There are no calling hours. A mass of remembrance will be held at a later date.
