Michele Menton Parsons

Michele was born June 26, 1940 in Bethel, CT, the daughter of the late Frank Menton, Sr. and Josephine Merlino Menton. She lived in Bethel, CT for 61 years before moving to Heritage Village, Southbury, CT.

She graduated from Bethel High School, and St Peter’s Nursing School in New Brunswick, NJ. She received her bachelor’s degree from Pace University and Masters Degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. She worked as a nurse in geriatrics for many years. She joined the State of CT Department of Social Services and worked there for 17 years before retiring in 2005.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish in Bethel, CT, and later joined Sacred Heart Parish in Southbury, CT. She was a daily communicant. She loved her husband and family, giving most of her free time to them. She enjoyed playing golf at Newtown Country Club, and taking long walks in Bethel and Southbury, CT.

In addition to her husband, Michele is survived by her daughters Jennifer Abercrombie and husband, Richard of Ridgefield, CT, Jessica Willsey and husband, James of Bethel, CT and son John K Parsons, III and wife Kimberly of Oxford, CT. Eight grandchildren: Richard, Elizabeth and Katherine Abercrombie, Jocelyn and Jared Willsey, and Kiana, Katrina and John Parsons. She is also survived by her brother Frank Menton and wife Rene of Shippensburg, PA, sister-in-law, Mary Sue Menton of Langdon, NH and brother-in-law, Walter Gebert of Bethel, CT and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, John Menton of Langdon, NH, and sisters, Grace Surma of Middleton, DE and Julia Coffey of Bethel, CT.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday June 18th at St. Mary’s Church, Bethel. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St, Danbury on Monday June 17th from 5-8 pm.
