Michel Alexandre Xavier - for the family and his close friends Alex - born September 28, 1971 in Bucharest, Romania and passed away July 24, 2023 in Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT has been a joyous, responsible child, a reserved, introvert teenager, a friendly, wonderful character man and my beloved first son.
He spent most of his childhood in France and was impregnated by the French culture and manners.
As a teenager in America he didn't embrace the American lifestyle, did not play football, basketball, baseball, he spent his free time listening to French music, eyes closed on his headset.
His strongest desire as a teenager was to become a doctor, to alleviate people's suffering. He was among the first first-responders to the 9-11 tragedy and he tirelessly worked there till the eve of Christmas 2001. In my opinion there he contracted his hepatitis because just one month before he tested negative.
His pastime was watching movies - "Papa, from a good movie you learn in one and a half-hour more than from reading an entire book".
He also had a strong belief:
"Papa, everyone has to die someday of something because every beginning has an end!"
For you, mon Grand, the end came much too fast and we - me, your mom, your brother, your wife, and the most important and loved by you, your daughter Eva, the extended family and those of your friends that I know still cannot believe that we will never hear again while answering the phone:
"Hello, c'est moi!"
A visitation for Alex will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Green Funeral Home 57 Main St, Danbury, CT 06810, with a prayer service at 12:30pm.
