Maureen was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter to Charlotte and Raymond Casey. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 59 years, Philip. Mother to Penny, Phil Jr. (Debbie), Jimmy (Fran) and Joseph. Grandmother to Matthew (Kerryn) and Joseph, and sister to Jeanette (Frank) and deceased Eileen (Jimmy), Deloris, Phyllis, and brothers John, Frank, and Billy.
Maureen was the embodiment of selflessness, particularly when it came to her children and grandchildren. She took pride in her office work at the former Bardon Corp. before her retirement. She enjoyed travelling and had many adventures over the years, was an avid reader of mysteries, and loved her pets Shamrock and Clover. She also volunteered over the years with the (former) Candlewood Theatre, Meals on Wheels, and the New Fairfield Public Library. Her greatest joy was cooking for and spending time with family.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to Candlewood Valley Health Center for their care and endless compassion to Maureen in her final years.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, or to the charity of one’s choice.
The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury on Friday, February 16, 2024, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
