Mary T. Coleman, 78, of Danbury, beloved wife of Joseph Coleman, passed away with her family by her side at Danbury Hospital on June 5th,2013. Mary was born and raised in Yonkers, NY, daughter of the late James and Sophie Dugan. She was a graduate of Commerce High School, Yonkers, and had lived in Rockland County and Maryland prior to moving to Danbury 28 years ago.
Mary and Joe loved travel and saw the world together over their many years of marriage. She has been a longtime member of St. Edward the Confessor Church and Ladies Guild and had served as a volunteer for Ann’s Place Home of I Can during its early years. She was also a long time participant and earned the designation of Associate with the Congregation de Notre Dame in Ridgefield, CT.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children: Kathleen Mulrooney and husband Joseph of Princeton, NJ, John Coleman and wife Lori of Syracuse, NY, Jeanne Demko of Danbury and James Coleman and wife Jenny of Danbury, twelve grandchildren: Michelle, Jeremy, Matthew, Kerry and John Coleman, Michael, Shane and Tiernan Mulrooney, Zachary and Allie Demko and Aiden and Abigail Coleman, as well as five great grandchildren: Audrey, Elise, Landon, Ronan and Clara. She is also survived by her brother John Dugan of Colonie, NY and his three daughters Maureen, Susan, and Therese. She cherished her family and friends throughout her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, on Monday 10 00 am .Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury on Sunday from 1-3 & 6-8 pm.
