Marie was born June 30, 1932 in Norwalk, the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Dominick) Testa. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Throughout the years she was her grandchildren’s #1 fan in the stands as she supported them on the athletic fields. Marie’s favorite pastime belonged to the competitive card playing games between she and her sisters. Marie loved her family unconditionally and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Marie was a longtime member of the Georgetown Bible Church. She prided herself on being a Christian woman. The Tarzia family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Danbury Hospital for their endless efforts and support during Marie’s time of need.
In addition to Michael, her husband of 60 years and true love, Marie is survived by her five children: Michael Jr. (Mike’s Towing) and Joan Tarzia of Brookfield, Nicholas and Shelia Tarzia of Richmond, Virginia, Donna Barnas of Branford, Mary Tarzia of Ridgefield, and Chris and Sally Tarzia of Richmond, Virginia. Marie is also missed by her adored and loved grandchildren: Michelle Tarzia McNamara and her husband Shawn of New Milford, Michael III and Diana Tarzia of Florida, Matthew and Ashley Tarzia of Bethel, Nicholas Jr. and Brittany Tarzia of Virginia, Leah Barton of Norwalk, Paul and Marcelle Barnas of Branford, Brianna and Christopher Tarzia Jr. of Virginia. In addition, Marie was the proud great grandmother to Cienna Marlie McNamara of New Milford, Michael Tarzia IV of Florida, and Matthew, Anthony, and Guiliana Tarzia of Bethel. She is also survived by her sisters Elsie Imri, Jenny Holt, and Patricia Grenier, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Marie was predeceased by her brothers, Samuel and Michael Testa, and sisters Pauline Cusack and Theresa Cutrone.
Funeral services will be held on Marie’s 80th birthday, Saturday June 30th at the Georgetown Bible Church, RT 107 Georgetown at 10:00am. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Norwalk. The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Friday from 5 thru 9pm.
