Maria Duarte

Maria was born in Azores, Portugal to Jacinto and Maria Furtado on August 11, 1948. She came to the United States at the age of four and attended school in Danbury, CT. She married John G. Duarte on November 26, 1967 in São Miguel, Portugal. She worked as a label maker for Davis & Geck for 25 years.

Maria is preceded in death by her parents, several siblings, and one grandchild.

Maria is survived by her husband, John G. Duarte, her children, Antonio and Deanna Duarte, three sisters, Margaret Medeiros, Delores Couto, and Lucia Rebelo, six grandchildren, Bubbie, Madison, Jake, Victoria, Nicholas, and Zadyn, several nieces and nephews, and many other relatives for whom she cared for deeply.

Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St. Danbury on Friday November 25, 2022 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00am on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at St. Joseph Church; Danbury CT Burial will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.

Memorials in Maria’s name may be given to a charity of your choice
