Lynn P. Shea, 78, of New Fairfield, CT passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Regional Hospice in Danbury after a long illness on Saturday, August 4, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Francis R. Shea.
Born in Oceanside, NY to the late Norman W. and Kathryn Z. Doughty, she attended schools in East Rockaway, Long Island and was a 1958 graduate of East Rockaway High School. Lynn then attended Brockport State Teachers College and Hofstra University.
Lynn was a school bus driver in New Fairfield for many years, where she also managed the bus office for a period of time. Lynn then continued her passion for driving in Danbury, before retiring in December 2017 after 47 years of dedicated service.
A New Fairfield resident for 49 years, Lynn previously resided in Lynbrook, New York. She was a member of the Community Service Club in New Fairfield and active in any activities that involved her children. Lynn loved all animals, especially Mazie, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
Lynn loved to attend Broadway shows with her husband and friends after which they would dine out in the city and discuss old times. Most of all, she loved being with her family and at her home.
Besides her husband of 59 years, survivors include her children, who meant the world to her: Michael C. Shea and Kathy L. Shea, both of New Fairfield.
The Family would like to extend their deep appreciation to Regional Hospice and Home Care of Western CT, as well as, Hancock Hall for their love and support during this extremely difficult time.
Friends will be received from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
Burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery, New Fairfield at the convenience of the family.
