Kevin S. Cullimore

Born in Wexford Town, County Wexford Ireland, he was the son of Margaret and Patrick Cullimore. He was taught by the Christian Brothers and enjoyed singing and acting with the Theatre Royal. He spent his summers in the seaside village of Rosslare on the beautiful sandy beaches. Kevin came to America in 1955 with his parents and younger brother. He worked for the New York telephone Company for 33 years.

He met the love of his life Philomena Byrnes at the City Center Ballroom in Manhattan NY in 1965, they were married in 1967 and had one daughter, Margaret Mary. They moved to New Fairfield CT in 1976 where they built a beautiful life together and raised their family. They had many friends in the community and kept an active social life. Kevin was a man of great faith and attended mass daily. He loved gardening and tending to his geraniums and hydrangeas. He was known by many for his beautiful voice and love of a good “sing song”. He was a strong presence in his grandchildren's lives and will be greatly missed by all.

Kevin is survived by his wife Philomena Cullimore, his sister Peggy Cullimore Klein of Staten Island, His brother Patrick Cullimore of Poughquag NY, his daughter and her husband Margaret and Bruce Gilligan of Danbury CT, his grandchildren William Kevin Coffey, and Claire Johanna Coffey, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Kevin is preceded in death by his brother James Cullimore and his parents Margaret and Patrick Cullimore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Friday July 22nd at Saint Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery, New Fairfield.

The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury on Thursday July 21st from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
