Born in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Gaudino and Maria Simao de Sousa. She has been a Danbury resident since 1966. Julie attended Danbury Schools and was a 1982 graduate of Danbury High School. She then attended Berkeley College in White Plains, NY.
A former administrative assistant in clinical documentation with MannKind Corporation in Danbury, Julie was previously with U.S. Surgical and Greenhaus, Riordan & Company.
Besides her husband, survivors include her beloved daughter, Sydney House of Danbury. Her brother: John Sousa and his wife, Paulette, of Anthem, Arizona. Her sister: Mary Ilda Silverio and her husband, Antonio, of Danbury. Her nieces and nephews: Teresa, Jon Paul, Stefanie, Paul, Jessica and Ashley. Her uncles and aunt: Hermano Simao, Agostinho Moniz, Bento Simao, Hermina Furtado and their spouses and many other family members in Danbury and Canada whom she loved.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother: Daciano “Dishy” de Sousa.
Funeral Services will be conducted Friday at 11am at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 40 Stadley Rough Road, Danbury, CT. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
