Julia Strusky, a long time resident of Danbury, passed away July 29, 2015 at the Glen Hill Nursing Home. She was 94 years old. Julia was born February 6, 1921 in Newark NJ, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Teofilia Kastuk.
She had been the Site Manager for the Elderly Nutrition Program in Danbury and a member of St. Gregory the Great Church. She most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving and selfless woman who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children Taffy Kachur of Southbury CT, Michael A. Strusky and his wife Kimberly of Naples FL, Nancy Strusky of Wolcott CT, and Stacey Wencek and her husband Gregory of Danbury CT, along with 10 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters Leventina Hankle of South Carolina and Mary Siriani of Sarasota FL, one brother Paul Kastuk of Putnam Valley NY, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, John and Stephen Kastuk.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday August 1, 2015 at 10:00 am at St Gregory the Great Church (there will be no calling hours). Interment will follow at St Peter Cemetery.
