Joseph Anthony Esteban, 89 of Danbury, CT died on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Connecticut Hospice, N. Branford, CT. Mr. Esteban was born in Vuelta, Cuba, November 2, 1922, son of the late Antonio and Filomena (Estefan) Esteban. He immigrated to the United States in 1948 and enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After receiving his honorable discharge, he graduated from Henry Abbot Technical School, Tool and Die Program in Danbury, CT.
A resident of Danbury, CT since 1950, Mr. Esteban was a former member of the Lebanon American Club, and currently a member of the Catholic War Veterans, the American Legion and St. Peter Catholic Church.
Mr. Esteban is survived by his sister, Marie Westwood of Wolverhampton England, two sons, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel Philip Esteban and his wife Deena, of Virginia, John Esteban, four grandchildren, John and Richard Esteban, Lori Mooney, Nicole Hanna and a great grandson Gabriel Esteban. He is predeceased by his daughter Mary L. Hanna.
A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10 am at St. Peter Church, Danbury, CT. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT. The family will receive friends at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT Friday, June 1, 2012 from 6 pm to 8 pm.
