Joseph was retired after working many years for Union Carbide Corporation. He also had been employed earlier by the Curtiss-Wright Research Division and New York University. Joseph graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School, The Cooper Union School of Engineering (B.E.E.), Oak Ridge School of Reactor Technology, and New York University (M.S. & Ph. D.)
Joseph is survived by Aurelie Agresta, his beloved wife of 58 years; a sister Rachel Agresta; seven children, Joseph, Aurelie, Thomas, Paul, William, Marguerite and Emily; eleven grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Yoshiko, Jimmy, Paul, Anthony, Kathleen, Joseph, Capri, Cooper and Carsen; and his extended family including Mary Clare & Fred, Frank & his kids, Sue, Tony, Elizabeth, Elaine, Lisa, and Jeff.
Joseph’s greatest passions included spending time with friends and family; listening to jazz music, particularly Sinatra, attending New York Giants games, traveling, particularly on cruises, collecting items relating to Santa Claus and Charles Dickens’ classic work A Christmas Carol, and attending mass. Joseph was an active parishioner at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ridgefield, CT.
