John Sypek, age 79, passed away at Danbury Hospital on March 26, 2017, surrounded by family. Formerly from West Hazleton, PA, Jack served with the U.S. Army, Old Guard Division in Arlington, VA. Jack later was employed at the Spaulding’s Bakeries Corp. in Danbury as Depot Manager for ten years. Jack then became employed at the Red Rooster Drive-In Restaurant in Brewster, NY for 42 years. Jack’s favorite times were spent enjoying his children and grandchildren. He loved sports and was a #1 loyal fan of the UCONN Women’s Basketball, Boston Red Sox, and the Green Bay Packers.
Jack was predeceased by his parents Charles and Helen Sypeck. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Doris (Kozel) Sypek. Jack also leaves behind his son Robert Sypek and wife Sheryl of Spring Hill, FL; his daughters Karen Sypek and Lee Ann Sypek of Danbury, CT. Jack was affectionately known as “Pop Pop” by his grandchildren; Brock and Jordan Sypek, Taylor, Samantha, and Nicholas Haddad, and Dustin Barrett who will all miss him dearly. In addition Jack will be greatly missed by his sister Mary Ellen Antolick and husband Albert and their children and grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT for calling hours from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Peter Church, 104 Main Street Danbury, CT on March 30, 2017 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers donations and contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
