He is survived by his brother Anton and sister Janice and his nieces and nephews and their children. John retired from the American Can Company after 34 years of service. He was proud of his work and the people he worked with.
John was an athlete and loved staying in shape whether training for marathons or preparing for his annual ski trips out West. He found so much joy in the exhilaration of achieving new heights and setting goals that only he could meet. His love of skiing has been passed on to his niece Alison whom he and Anne taught to ski at a young age and continued well into his 80s when he taught his grand nephews, Matthew and Patrick, how to ski in order to keep the tradition going. He was the king of apres ski after putting in a long day at Alta (where he was most proud to wear his 80+ Club pin and could ski for free.)
He set the bar high and will be missed. John will live in our hearts forever.
