John Leonard Falcone of New Fairfield, CT, peacefully passed away on August 26, 2022, at the age of 60, surrounded by his loving family. He faced the past two years with courage, strength, and hope, as he lived every day before that.
Born December 6, 1961, in The Bronx, NY, he was the first born of the late Louis and Julie Carlson Falcone. He later moved and was raised in Hopewell Junction, NY, where at the age of 17, he met the love of his life, Anne Marie Parisella Falcone. They married in 1984 at St. Denis in Hopewell Junction. They moved to Stamford, then Norwalk and eventually settled down in New Fairfield, CT, where shortly thereafter they gave birth to their pride and joy, Louis and Katherine Falcone.
Nothing meant more to John than family. A natural athlete, he spent his free time passing on the values of athletics and team building to his children, helping them grow in whatever direction they chose. Whether an active cheerer on the sidelines or leading others as a coach, John had a strong presence in the New Fairfield sports community. As a life-long learner, he loved to continuously better himself through reading. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains, from hiking the Adirondacks with his family to skiing the Rocky Mountains with his son. He cherished nothing more than seeing the world with his family by his side, from Hawaii to Italy, the memories made along the way will live on through his family. Having a taste for the finer things in life, he enjoyed sampling the best food, wine, and craft beers both locally and afar.
John was a 1979 graduate of John Jay Sr. High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Accounting from SUNY Albany in 1984. John was passionate about his career and the challenges it provided him. He started his career as a CPA at Kahan Steiger, progressed his way to a management role at KPMG, held multiple leadership roles at GE Capital and spent the past decade as a Senior Vice President at US Bank.
John was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Julie Carlson Falcone, his grandparents, Levi and Elin Carlson and Giovanni and Letizia Falcone, his aunts Vivian Carlson, Lillian Carlson Morales, uncle Richard Carlson, mother-in-law, Beatrice Parisella, and brother-in-law, Gregory Parisella.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 38 years, Anne, his loving children Louis Falcone and Katherine Falcone, sisters Lezia Falcone Bagnato (Dominic), Donna Falcone Erickson (James), and brother Vincent Falcone. He is also survived by his father-in-law John Parisella, Sr. (Regina), sisters-in-law Michele Parisella Uland (Paul), Diane Parisella, and brother-in-law John Parisella Jr. (Jill). He leaves behind all those who loved him dearly, a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and his family dog, Aspen, who will miss his playful snuggles and kisses.
True to one of his favorite quotes “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same” John was a role model, inspiring all around him.
