John F. Carvalho, age 66, of Danbury, Connecticut, passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018. John was born on October 15, 1951 in Portugal, the son of the late Arthur and Elvira (Francisco) Carvalho. For over forty years he was an engineer working in the manufacturing industry. Upon retirement four years ago, he worked part time with his longtime friends at RK Manufacturing.
John enjoyed his antique cars, was the past chief of the Beaver Brook Volunteer Fire Department, and was an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish as a past lector. He was a kind and caring man who will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years Kathie (Holick) Carvalho, one son John Carvalho and his wife Kathy of Southbury, a daughter Linda Rodriguez and her husband Gabriel of Georgia; three grandchildren, Emily and Gianna Carvalho and Casey Rodriguez, two brothers, Arthur Carvalho and his wife Isabel of Danbury, Joaquim Carvalho and his wife Teresa of New Milford, a sister-in-law JoAnn Whitlock and her husband Ronald of Danbury. John is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held Monday, April 2, 2018, from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, CT. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 2, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 46 Stone St., Danbury, CT 06810. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery.
