Joan (Joni) Gail Hudson-Simone, 84, of Bethel, CT passed away on May 10, 2024. She was known for her artistic flair, fashionable style and culinary skills. She brought creativity and elegance to everything she touched. Her passion for art and fashion inspired everyone around her. Her delicious meals brought joy to many, as she was a phenomenal cook.
Joan graduated from Danbury High School in 1958 and still attended monthly luncheons with her classmates up until her passing. She worked at Berol (Eagle Pencil) for many years as a payroll manager. Joan loved weekly BINGO with her Bethel friends and a trip to the casino when she could. Joan dreamed of living near the ocean and the times with her family in the sun and sand will be cherished for eternity.
Joan so loved her family, friends and her pet kitties; she derived so much joy of their time together over the years. She is survived by her son Craig Simone, daughter Kelly Simone (Mike Palmieri), brother Jimmy, brother Johnny (Linda) sister Susie (Rich) her beloved sister Mary (Bonnie) and former son-in-law Jim Derbyshire. Joan is also survived by her beloved grandchildren Abby (Rachel), Tommy, Tyler, Travis, Aaron, Corey-Jo and Lucas and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents John Elliot Hudson and Rita Yvonne Stavoll-Appt, son Christopher Simone, and her brothers John and Jeff Hudson.
Joan’s family would like to thank all of the staff in the Danbury Hospital ICU and Havencare at Hancock Hall for the loving care given to Joan. A special heartfelt thank you to our cousin Beverly for all her love support and knowledge in these difficult last few weeks.
Joan had us all with her and she knew how much she was loved. She will be missed every moment of every day.
Joan’s wishes are cremation with no services.
