James Patrick Lynch, 74, passed away at Danbury Hospital surrounded by his wife and daughters on Sunday, January 31, 2021. A proud Danbury native who recently moved to Bethel, Jim was born to the late Agnes and Martin Lynch on March 14, 1946. Jim was predeceased by his daughter Susan Lynch, brother-in-law Chuck Ferguson, son-in-law Eddie Baldwick, brother Duane Blake, sister Margaret Rasmussen and brother-in-law Ed Rasmussen.
Jim, a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, loved nothing more than spending time with his family. He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 57 years Barbara; daughters Erin Baldwick and her children EJ, Susie, and Madeline; Meghan and Gary Pipkin, their daughters Savanah and Christel (Tim) and their grandsons Jackson and Noah; Shannon and Thomas Galliford and their daughters Elizabeth and Catherine; and the apple of his eye, great-grandson Matthew James. He will be fondly remembered by his siblings Marlene Burke (Tom), Martin Lynch (Laura), Brian Lynch, George Lynch
(Shirley), and sister-in-law Nancy Ferguson, as well as his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He retired from Earthmovers after 25 years as a construction superintendent. In the years following his retirement, he dedicated himself to a life of service. A friend to all, Jim provided guidance, support, and a listening ear to countless people who needed it. He was a long time, treasured member of the Fellowship Center of Danbury, serving as a board member of Success Residential Homes and a past President of the Fellowship Center Advisory Board. Jim was grateful for his life, friends, and family, and his determination to give back as much as possible is perhaps best represented by the continued success of the Fellowship Center. A deeply spiritual man, Jim was a lifetime member of St. Peter Church who served as the first President of the Men's Society, a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the Parish Council, and was instrumental in starting parish bingo.
