James Robert Hawk passed away peacefully at Danbury Hospital on August 21, 2016 with his family by his side. James, formerly of the Bronx, New York, has resided in Danbury, Connecticut since 1975. He was born on February 14, 1942, son of the late Arthur Hawk and Margaret Duelk. He graduated from St. Helena’s High School in the Bronx and from Pace University in New York City with a degree in accounting. James was a respected tax consultant in the community and was also employed as the controller for Montanari Fuel Services. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Arthur Hawk. James is survived by his wife of 53 years, Theresa Hawk, his children and their spouses, James Hawk (Lisa Hawk), Patricia Kitka (Gabor Kitka), and Carol Hawk (Brian Fowler), his grandchildren, Kelly Kitka, Amy Kitka, James Hawk, Colleen Hawk, Megan Fowler and Emma Fowler as well as nephews, nieces and several cousins. James enjoyed travel, particularly to Hawaii, football and was an avid New York Giants fan, horses, gaming and, mostly time spent with family and friends. James was quick to evoke smiles and laughter from those around him. Family and friends are encouraged to call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT 06810 on Thursday August 25, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. for visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday morning August 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor, 21 Brush Hill Road, New Fairfield, CT 06812.
