An Angel goes to heaven. Gloria A. (Albano) Barry, 80, of New Milford, CT, formerly of Danbury, CT, passed away in her sleep early on Monday morning, January 30, 2017. She was the wife of the late S. Ray Barry.
Gloria was born in Danbury on Sept. 2, 1936 to the late James V. and Lucretia (DeLucia) Albano. She graduated from Danbury High School and worked at David& Geck during her younger years. Gloria was formerly a sales associate at Genung’s, Read’s and Macy’s. She was to then become a practical nurse from her love of taking care of people. Gloria had an amazing sense of style and never went anywhere without her lipstick and Juicy sunglasses. Gloria was all about family and never wanted to miss a holiday without them.
Besides her husband and parents, Gloria was predeceased by her son, Joseph J. Barry and her eight siblings. Survivors include her children: Cynthia Hoefer and her husband, Tom, of New Milford; Raymond Barry and his wife, Debra, of New Milford; Robert Barry and Kevin Barry, both of Las Vegas, NV. Eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017 at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, at the convenience of the family. Friends will be received from 4pm-7pm on Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.
