Jerry was born on June 6, 1940 to his parents Mary McGowan and Hugh Curran. He immigrated to London where he wore many hats including an apprentice jockey, and designer of various apparel items. It was in London that he met his wife, Anne Burke, and they were married on May 9, 1964. In July, 1965 they then immigrated to the United States. Together they raised two daughters, Geraldine and Claire.
One of his greatest passions was his Irish heritage and this could be seen through his involvement in the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Danbury. He served as an active member as well as being the AOH President for many years and who dreamed of starting the Greater Danbury Irish Festival in order to find a permanent home for the AOH club. He was known for his sense of humor and was never shy to start a conversation with anyone.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David. He is survived by his wife, Anne, his daughters Geraldine and Claire, his two son-in-laws, Chris and Jeff and four grandsons, David, Brendan, Ryan and Aidan. He is also survived by his two brothers, Hugh and Tommy.
