Gary L. Lupo, 68, of Candlewood Isle, New Fairfield, CT, passed away on Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Mary Ellen (McClory) Lupo, who he married on October 30, 1982.
Gary was born in New York, NY, a son of the late Michael R. Lupo, Sr., and the late Pauline (Palleschi) Lupo. Gary attended public school and graduated in 1972 from DeWitt Clinton HS in the Bronx.
Gary was a well respected master technician in the field of Home and Commercial Security and Fire Alarm Systems for All Time Detection in Port Chester, NY since August of 1981.
In his 68 years on this earth, Gary was known as the go to guy for advice in all aspects of work and life. He never hesitated to offer his assistance and vast knowledge to friends, family, customers and strangers alike. He was an avid volunteer for many years in the community of Candlewood Isle where he resided since 2001, assisting with social events, maintenance and security, and as a longtime member of the Marina Committee.
Gary’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, his siblings, in-laws, his many nieces and nephews and their families, and friends. Gary had a way of making everyone feel special and so loved. He always had a smile on his face and was truly one of a kind.
Gary was predeceased by his parents, Michael and Pauline Lupo; his in-laws, Cyril L. McClory and Dorothy M. (Adams) McClory; and his brother in-law, Christopher J. McClory.
In addition to his wife, Mary Ellen, of 40 years, survivors include his son, Paul Lupo and his partner Justine Grover and their daughters Mila and Lia; his daughter, Valerie Lupo and her partner Rob Torres; his brother, Michael R. Lupo, Jr., (Josie); his sister, Michele Wells (Robert); and his brother, Rod Lupo (Alice); as well as his many nieces, nephews and their children.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Thursday, November 10, 2022 at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield with the Rev. Timothy Iannacone officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family
Friends will be received from 3:00pm – 8:00pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street., Danbury, CT.
