Frances Perrone, 91, of New Fairfield, beloved wife of the late James V. Perrone, passed away at Danbury Hospital, on Saturday, September 3, 2011. Frances was born in Sicily, Italy, daughter of the late Luigi and Maria Vinci. She immigrated to the U.S. with her parents in 1930 and had lived in the Bronx, prior to moving to New Fairfield, where she has been a resident for the past 39 years. She graduated high school in the Bronx and had worked for many years as a seamstress in the New York garment district. She was a longtime member of St. Edward the Confessor Church, Ladies Guild and Prayer Shawl Knitting Group, as well as the New Fairfield Senior Center, where she also worked as a volunteer.
Frances is survived by two children, her daughter Marie Haniuk and husband Michael, of Brewster, her son Frank J. Perrone and wife Paulette, of Mohegan Lake, NY, five grandchildren: Jennifer, Michael and Erik Haniuk and James and Thera Perrone, a great grandson, Frank Perrone, two sisters, Vincenza Perrone and husband Frank Perrone, of Boynton Beach, FL and Sophia Hinton, of Woodland Hills, CA as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Nunzio Vinci.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, on Thursday morning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Raymond Cemetery, Bronx, NY. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
