Eddie was born in Danbury, CT on December 8, 1928. He was the son of the late Eric Menzer & Mildred (Swanson) Menzer.
Eddie grew up with the love of farming, working on dairy farms in his early days. Eddie co-owned a dairy farm of his own on the property that is now the site of Stew Leonard’s in Danbury, CT. In 1946 he sold his farm and went to work for Marcus Dairy, putting his knowledge and expertise of the milking industry to use. He then went on to open his own steam cleaning company called Super Kleen.
Later in his life, after retirement, his full time job became hanging out at the Goodie Shoppe in New Fairfield with Marc, Debbie and the Goodie Shoppe crew (too many friends to name, but you all know who you are). Please know, you all held a special place in Eddie’s heart and his family is forever grateful for the love, compassion and true friendship you each showed to him through the years in your own special way.
Eddie is survived by his brothers John (Carol) Menzer and Donald (Trudy) Menzer as well as several nieces and nephews including: Johnny Menzer, Erik & Michele Day, Jeff Menzer, T.J. Modzelewski, Robin Haddad, and Kimberly Opotzner, several grand nieces and a grand nephew.
