Edward (Eddie) was born in Bronx, NY to Delbert and Marian Hand on September 18,1951.
Eddie went to school in the Bronx. He married Josephine Comerico on July 2, 1977 on City Island in the Bronx, NY. Eddie worked as an electrician for Con Edison for 40 years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy. As a young man, Eddie worked at the Whitestone Movie Theatre, occasionally assisted by his daughter, Jennifer. His love of movies (especially anything Marvel related) would stay with him his whole life. He loved talking movies and “shooting the breeze” with his pals at the Riverview movie house in Southbury, where he went frequently with his daughters. A kid at heart, Eddie also enjoyed trips to Disney with his family. Always determined to spend time with his family, he even tried his hand at camping once. One capsized canoe brought that to a quick end, and Eddie decided it was probably safer to stick with his weekly, Thursday night dinners with his kids and grandkids.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Marian, and his sister-in-law, Karen.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Josephine, his daughter Jennifer (William) Mohl, his daughter Nicole (John) Sheldon, his son Edward Jr., his son Brian (Tyana), his brothers Bobby, Richie (Debbie), and Raymond (Melody), his sister Susan (Ken) Krausman, and his grandchildren Kaysea, Rachael, Joseph, Matthew, Anthony, Kimberly, John Jr. and Jaden.
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, December 30, 2022 at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT followed by services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 10 W. Stevens Ave., Hawthorne, NY officiated by Pastor Dan Gilman of Valley Christian Church.
The family of Eddie wishes to extend our sincere thanks to the caring staff at The Watermark at East Hill, Southbury CT and Masonicare, Wallingford CT.
