Denzil Roy Muschett, 69, of Danbury, CT, passed away at Danbury Hospital on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, from cancer. Born July 20, 1944 in Annotto Bay, St. Mary, Jamaica, W.I., he was the son of Lena and Ambrose Muschett. As a child he attended Miss Norton Catholic School. He also attended Holy Trinity Church where he served as an altar boy with Bob Marley. He worked at Jamaica Public Service Company as an electrician and also worked for Kem-Tek Pool Products.
In 1968 he migrated to the United States and took up residency in Springfield, MA, where he worked for Uniroyal. He later relocated to Danbury. On April 30th, 1977, he wed the love of his life, Verna White. While working part-time for Nejame & Sons he also worked full-time at Gilbert & Bennett for 15 years. After the closing of Gilbert and Bennett he began a full-time role with Nejame & Sons, where he was treated as family.
He had a zest for life, generosity, integrity and kind-heartedness and was an inspiration to his family and friends. In spite of his illness, he lived his life with valor.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Verna Muschett; his daughter Veronica and grandson, Anthony Hulse; his mother Lena; his aunt Gloria Humphrey, and his step-children, who referred to him as Dad, Sherron, Leoni, Sandra, Delroy, and Hugh. He also leaves to cherish his memory eleven grandchildren, four of whom he helped to raise, Ebony, Shamori, Ramael and Monique; one great-grand daughter; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and a host of extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his father Ambrose and son Martin Muschett.
