Carol A. Sollose, of Danbury, CT, passed away at her home unexpectedly on March 26, 2018. She was the loving mother of Brian Sollose of Danbury, Craig Sollose of Brookfield, and Kirsten Martin of Brookfield.
Carol was born on January 1, 1943 in Bronx, NY to John and Catherine Connolly. Upon graduating from St. Helena’s High School, Carol married Donald Sollose and the two raised their three children together in Danbury, CT.
A Danbury resident for over 50 years, Carol worked for Grolier Telemarketing, Inc where she received numerous awards for outstanding sales.
Carol will be remembered by her friends and family as a fun, loving woman with a great sense of humor. She loved movies, politics, and a good laugh. Carol’s favorite times were spent with her children and grandchildren sharing meals, celebrating holidays and other special events. Carol, known as “Nana”, loved her children and grandchildren most of all. She always put her family first.
Besides her parents, Carol was predeceased by her only sibling, brother John “Jack” Connolly, from Port St. Lucie, Florida, in October 2017.
Survivors include her children: Brian Sollose of Danbury; Kirsten Martin and her husband, Glenn, of Brookfield; Dr. Craig Sollose and his wife, Lori, of Brookfield. Her grandchildren: Olivia Martin, Drew Martin, Catherine Sollose, and Bradford Sollose.
Family and Friends will be received from 4pm-7pm on Friday, March 30, 2018, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT. Rev. George (Chip) O’Neill, Pastor of St. Joseph Church in Brookfield, will officiate a prayer service at 6:45pm.
A private Christian Burial for family will be celebrated on Saturday March 31, 2018, at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
