Blanche Patton Masi, a lifetime resident of Danbury, died on March 21, 2013 at Bethel Health Care Center. She was born in New York on August 29, 1913, the daughter of the late David R. and Bernice Swentzel Patton. She was the wife of the late Angelo John Masi. She attended the one room King Street School and Danbury High School. Mrs. Masi was a longtime member of the King Street United Church of Christ and the Womens’ Society. She was also a member of the Dorcas Society.
Mrs. Masi was devoted to her family, friends and faith and was a homemaker for many years. She was known to frequently bake breads and pies for neighbors and family. As the matriarch, she inspired her family to lead lives full of love, friendship and kindness. She will always be remembered for her selflessness, humor, courage, and spirit. After her husband passed, she was employed at Filosa Convalescent Home as a Recreational Director. She then worked as a receptionist at the Danbury Senior Center.
She is survived by her two daughters and their spouses Carolyn and Jack Otto, Angela and Daniel Dayton, two sons and their spouses John and Michele Masi and Ronald and Nancy Masi, a brother John Patton, two sisters, Isabelle Benicewicz, and Ralphine McGrann; twenty grandchildren, forty great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter Bernice Cole, granddaughter Rebecca Masi, brother James Patton, and three sisters, Margaret Miller, Ila Aloia and Marie Benicewicz.
Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home 57 Main St., Danbury on Monday, March 25, 2013 between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the King Street United Church of Christ at 11:00am. The Reverend Leo McIlrath and Reverend Cindy Maddox will officiate. Immediately following the service, burial will be in the King Street Baptist Cemetery.
