She was born in New York, NY on June 12, 1940 to the late Emilia Hozuka and Laurence Schuk. Anita attended Grasslands School of Nursing and graduated in 1961. She was well respected in the healthcare field and retired from the Department of Public Health after many years of service where she inspected nursing facilities throughout the state of Connecticut for licensure purposes.
Anita was always there to help others when needed, and touched the lives of many. She had an outgoing personality and was witty. She would stand up for what she believed in and advocate for what she thought was right. She volunteered extensively in the community, most recently at Danbury City Hall.
Anita nurtured many lifelong friendships who she enjoyed regular outings and adventures with. She enjoyed traveling, taking friends and family to her timeshare in Vermont at the Trapp Family Lodge, and going on cruises. Anita enjoyed ballroom dancing and loved to learn. She liked to watch animal/nature documentaries, read books, and take local classes including Japanese calligraphy, painting, and flower arranging..
Anita loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind her three children: Daniel M. Lynch, Laurence Lynch and Laurie (Paul) DeFabritis. Her grandchildren: Jessica, Shaun, Brian and Claire; and two great-grandchildren; her niece, Carolyn; and nephew, David including their children.
Anita was predeceased by a twin brother, Laurence Schuk.
A Graveside Service will be conducted at 11:30am on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025 at Mt. View Cemetery, RT 37, New Fairfield with the Rev. Robert Wolfe, Pastor of St. Edward Church. New Fairfield, officiating.
