Angela Leonor Silva known lovingly as Leonor by family and friends, 92, of 242 Ichabod Rd., Southbury, CT, passed away peacefully at her home on Palm Sunday, April 13, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Wilo Silva, who preceded her in death in August of 2023.
Leonor was born on September 21, 1932, in Guayaquil, Ecuador, to the late Oswaldo and Lucila Proaño. She received her education in Guayaquil, where she later married Wilo Silva on July 14. Together, they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and community.
Leonor worked as a seamstress and held various positions while living in Queens, NY, always contributing to her community with grace and humility. Alongside her husband, she was actively involved in El Centro Social de Alausí, where he served as president for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Leonor is survived by her devoted children: Jaime & Patricia Silva; Giovanni & Carmen Silva; Wilson & Blanca Silva; Janina & Dan Poole; Oswaldo & Micaela Silva; Henry & Maria Silva.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Adrian & Daniella Silva, Nicholas Silva, Lucas Silva, Christian & Maggie Silva, Michael & Sarah Silva, Daniella & Daniel Silva, Damian & Sharrone Silva, David Snyder, Miranda Silva, Mireia Silva, Amanin Silva, Junior Silva and Ian Silva
And her adored great-grandchildren: Andre Silva, Gabriel Silva and Anthony Silva
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Green Funeral Home, Danbury, CT.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main St. South, Southbury, CT. Interment will follow at St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury, CT.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Leonor’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
The Silva family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to Regional Hospice of Danbury. Special thanks to Jen, Kathleen, Emily, Denise, Duanny, and the entire team who brought comfort and dignity to Leonor’s final days. Heartfelt thanks also to Dr. Khan, the nurses, and staff at Southbury Medical Center for their attentive care and compassion throughout the years.
